This policy explains how Tshwi Advisor handles information provided through the career guidance platform.
Information We Collect
We collect account email addresses, profile details such as name and phone number, quiz responses, selected interests, and course recommendations. Quiz answers can be used to calculate course matches without providing contact details. If an adult user explicitly opts in to follow-up, the optional name, email address and/or phone number they provide may be stored and used by the College for programme or admissions follow-up. Anonymous quiz submissions are not stored as leads.
How We Use Information
Information is used to provide course recommendations, maintain student profiles, respond to enquiries, and support college admissions and service improvement. We do not sell personal information.
Access and Security
Student profiles are accessible only to the signed-in account holder. Authorised administrators may access lead and profile information for legitimate college administration. Passwords are stored as secure hashes, not readable passwords.
POPIA-Aligned Data Handling
Tshwi Advisor is designed to support responsible handling of personal information under South African privacy principles. Contact details are optional for course matching, anonymous quiz submissions are not stored as leads, operational data is kept outside the source-code repository, and access to stored profile and lead information is restricted. The public quiz does not invite users under 18 to submit follow-up contact details. This statement describes the platform design and is not a substitute for the College's formal POPIA governance obligations.
Your Choices
You may update your profile details from your account. For questions about your information, access requests, corrections, or deletion requests, contact the college through the Contact page.
